This is hands down the worst movie I have seen in a long time if not the worst ever. People, this ain’t even a rental, unless you have a morbid sense of curiosity. It’s Godzilla meets The Blair Witch Project meets Aliens meets War of the Worlds meets Monty Python. It starts off real enough but by 15 minutes in it had completely lost me. The storyline, if it can even be called one, is atrociously non existent. The performances were fair, however no one will get any Oscar nominations, in fact I don’t think anything about this movie will get any Oscar attention. However it could very well sweep the Razzies. The special effects were really good but nothing new. **Spoiler Warning** If you still think that you might wanna see this film and and would rather let the film ruin your experience instead of me don’t read any further. Here’s the scoop, the whole movie takes place from the perspective of a home movie camera(Blair Witch ripoff). A bunch of 20 somethings are having a going away party. It gets interrupted by some monster type thing stomping around Manhattan destroying things and eating people(Godzilla rip off). The military starts hammering the hell out of it with tanks and rocket launchers. At one point you see B2 bombers dropping what looks like 5000lbs bombs right on it’s back and it merely falls down and gets back up with no wounds or even any apparent effect(War of the Worlds ripoff). Then it immediately jumps up in to the air and slaps a helicopter out of the sky(King Kong ripoff). Oh and the laser guided bombs miss all over the place doing more damage than the monster. There is even a 9/11 esque moment when a building collapses just like the towers, the big dust cloud comes billowing down the street and people run into a store with a glass front while the dust goes floating by. 30 seconds later the dust is completely settled. One girl spends a couple hours impaled on a blunt piece of reinforcement bar. It’s through her back and sticking out of her chest. Her friends lift her off of it and few minutes later she is running down the street(inadvertent Monty Python ’tis but a flesh wound’ ripoff). Oh and when one of the little monsters(Alien face hugger with teeth ripoff) bite someone they have about 45 minutes before they start bleeding from the eyes and their chest explodes like a blood filled balloon with a cherry bomb in it(Alien rip off #2). Oh yea and there is no ending at all. The movie ends with two of the characters hiding under a bridge and the military bombing the hell outta the monster. A bombs collapses the bridge on them, the camera cuts off and the credits roll. No explanation of where the monster came from, where it was going, why it was trashing Manhattan, and no explanation of how things end.
